Manual Description
When installing rubber parts, final tightening must be carried out under unladen condition* with tires ground, *Fuel, radiator coolant and engine oil full, hand tools and mats designated positions, use flare nut wrench when removing installing brake.
After installing removed suspension parts, check wheel, always torque brake lines when installing, the actual shapes of Kent-Moore tools may differ from those of special service tools illustrated here, removing tie-rod outer end lower ball.
Removing and installing wheel bearing lock, removing and installing each brake piping, noise, Vibration Harshness (NVH) Troubleshooting, use the chart below to help you find the cause of the symptom.
Check front axle parts for excessive play, cracks, wear other, refer to Wheel Hub Rotor Disc”, AX-6, check that wheel bearings operate smoothly, axial end play: 0 mm (0 in).
Adjust wheel bearing preload if there is any axial end play, wheel bearing does not turn smoothly, adjust wheel bearing preload after wheel bearing has been, replaced or front axle has been reassembled.
Adjust wheel bearing preload follows, apply multi-purpose grease sparingly following parts, contact surface between wheel bearing lock washer (chamfered side) outer wheel bearing, wheel hub (as shown left).
Tighten wheel bearing lock nut with Tool, turn wheel hub several times both directions, loosen wheel bearing lock nut so that torque becomes 0 N·m, retighten wheel bearing lock nut with Tool.
Measure wheel bearing axial end play, check boot and drive shaft for cracks, wear, damage, before removing the front axle assembly, disconnect ABS, brake hose need not be disconnected brake caliper.
This case, suspend caliper assembly with wire so not, be careful not to depress brake pedal, or piston will pop out, make sure brake hose not twisted, wheel Hub Rotor Disc (Cont'd).
Remove hub cap with suitable tool, remove snap ring with suitable tool, remove wheel hub wheel bearing, be careful not drop outer bearing.
After installing wheel hub and wheel bearing, adjust wheel, refer to Preload Adjustment”, FRONT WHEEL BEARING”, pack drive flange groove with grease, apply grease O-ring, (two places) and mating surface of drive flange, install.
Remove grease seal and bearing outer races with suitable, thoroughly clean wheel bearings wheel hub, make sure wheel bearing rolls freely and free noise, check wheel hub for crack by using magnetic exploration.
Install bearing outer race with Tool until it seats hub, pack multi-purpose grease into wheel hub, apply multi-purpose grease each bearing cone, pack grease seal lip with multi-purpose grease, then install it.
Into wheel hub with suitable drift, separate tie-rod end and lower ball joint knuckle with, install stud nut conversely on stud bolt so not damage.
