Turn blower control all the way counter-clockwise, and then turn the dial one detent clockwise, if OK, continue with next check, press A/C switch with blower switch ON, a/C switch indicator will turn ON.
Confirm that the compressor clutch engages (sound visual inspection), press each mode switch and confirm that discharge air comes out according to the air distribution table, confirm that the A/C compressor clutch is engaged (sound or visual inspection) and intake door position, if NG, listen for sound of air mix door motor operation if OK, go to trouble diagnosis procedure HAC-59.
If NG, listen for sound of air mix door motor operation, mix Door Motor Component Function Check", the refrigerant flows in the standard pattern, that is, through the compressor, the condenser with liquid tank, through the front evaporator, and back to the compressor.
Coil is controlled by the front externally equalized expansion valve, located inside front evaporator case, the compressor cycles on and off to maintain the evaporator temperature within a specified range, evaporator coil temperature falls below a specified point, the intake sensor interrupts the compressor operation.
