Always replace with a new seal once it has been removed, install new oil seal until it stops, apply multi-purpose grease to seal lip oil seal before, before separating the transmission engine, remove.
The crankshaft position sensor (OBD) transmission, be careful not to damage sensor edge ring gear teeth, to prevent oil spills, drain transmission oil before removing, transmission or insert plug into rear oil seal after removing.
Park/neutral position (PNP) switch harness connectors, ¼ Do not place jack under oil pan drain plug, support manual transmission while removing it, installation is in the reverse order removal.
To avoid damage when replacing shift knob, remove shift lever, remove control housing, check ball, return spring plugs, select, plug, check spring check ball, be careful not lose check balls.
Drive out striking lever retaining pin, remove striking lever striking rod, remove rear extension by lightly tapping it, remove front cover, gasket, counter gear front bearing shim.
And main drive gear ball bearing snap ring, separate transmission case from adapter plate by lightly tapping it, remove oil seal front cover, be careful not to damage mating surface front cover.
Set up Tool adapter plate, remove striking rod adapter plate, remove check ball plugs, check springs, check balls, before disassembly, measure the end play each gear.
Replace any part which is worn or damaged, mesh and reverse gear, then remove counter gear front, remove snap ring, then remove sub-gear bracket, sub-gear, remove counter drive gear together with main drive gear.
When removing main drive gear assembly, be careful not, to drop pilot bearing baulk ring, remove snap ring, then remove 3rd 4th synchronizer, disassemble parts at rear of adapter plate follows.
Release staking on both counter gear mainshaft lock nuts, remove overdrive counter gear together with counter gear, rear end bearing using suitable puller.
