Manual Description
FRONT WHEEL HUB AND KNUCKLE 7, sERVICE DATA AND SPECIFICATIONS (SDS) 19, when installing rubber parts, final tightening must be carried out under unladen condition* with tires, oil will shorten the life of rubber bushes.

*: Fuel, radiator coolant and engine oil full, after installing removed suspension parts, check wheel alignment adjust necessary, observe the following precautions when disassembling servicing drive shaft, perform work in a location which is dust-free possible.

Before disassembling and servicing, clean outside parts, prevention of the entry of foreign objects must be taken into account during disassembly service, disassembled parts must be carefully reassembled in the correct order, cover must be placed over parts.

Paper shop cloths must be used, disassembled parts (except for rubber parts) should be cleaned with kerosene which shall be removed by, blowing with air or wiping with paper shop cloths, removing inner race on outer side wheel.

Removing tie-rod outer end lower ball, installing wheel bearings splash guard, nOISE, VIBRATION AND HARSHNESS (NVH) TROUBLESHOOTING, refer to FRONT AXLE chart.

Refer to DRIVE SHAFT chart, use the chart below to help you find the cause of the symptom, fRONT WHEEL HUB AND KNUCKLE, inspect to check that there is no excessive play, cracking, wear.

Turn front wheels (left/right) check play, check that no nails or other foreign objects embedded, retighten all axle nuts and bolts specified torque, with the vehicle raised, inspect following.

Move wheel hub in the axial direction by hand, rotate wheel hub and check that there is no unusual noise or other irregular conditions, irregular conditions, replace wheel bearing, remove brake caliper from steering knuckle.

Avoid depressing the brake pedal with brake caliper removed, remove wheel sensor from steering knuckle, do not pull wheel sensor harness, remove disc rotor wheel hub.

When using a ball joint remover, install nuts temporarily, remove drive shaft steering knuckle, check for deformity, cracks and damage on each parts, replace necessary, check for boot breakage, axial looseness, and torque of transverse link ball joint.

Refer to "Removal and Installation" for tightening torque, refer to component parts location and do not reuse non-reusable parts, set steering knuckle on bench vise at point where strut, remove wheel hub and bearing assembly steering knuckle.

When placing onto vise, be careful not damage strut, as shown in the figure, use a puller (suitable tool), drift (SST), and bearing replacer (SST) to remove inner race outer wheel, use a flat-bladed screwdriver or similar tool remove snap ring.

Be careful not to scratch steering knuckle, fix steering knuckle to bench vise, and hammer to remove splash guard steering knuckle, use a drift (SST) and a press remove wheel bearing.

Check wheel bearings for damage, seizure, and corrosion, check steering knuckle for deformation, cracks, and other damage, check snap ring for wear or other damage.
