RADIO & SATELLITE RADIO ANTENNA 158, reference ··· Refer AV-25, "Symptom Table", check the malfunction symptoms by performing following items, interview the customer to obtain the malfunction information (conditions and environment when malfunction occurred).
Perform the relevant diagnosis referring to the diagnosis chart by symptom, repair or replace malfunctioning parts, perform the operation to check that the malfunction symptom is solved or any other symptoms present, radio signal are received by radio antenna, next it is amplified by antenna amp.
Audio unit outputs the audio signal each speaker, volume level of this system gone up and down automatically in proportion vehicle speed, the control level can be selected by customer, outputs sound signal audio unit.
Outputs high, mid low range sounds, radio signal received by radio antenna is amplified and sent audio unit, each audio operation can be operated, steering switch signal (operation signal) is output audio unit.
Self-diagnosis mode can check following items, continuity of each audio unit switch, turn ignition switch ON position, while pressing the AUDIO” button, turn volume control dial.
Clockwise or counterclockwise 30 clicks or more, initially, all display segments will be illuminated, press the AUDIO” switch again to display CD Mech” (CD, press the AUDIO” switch again to display the SDARS” (satellite radio version).
When all segments are illuminated, press the TUNE” up switch, then send a tone to each channel (FL, RL, RR, FR) 1 second, when all segments are illuminated, press the TUNE” down switch, pressed, a tone will sound and the switch name will be displayed.
POWER SUPPLY AND GROUND CIRCUIT, check that the following fuses of the audio unit not blown, >> If fuse is blown, be sure to eliminate cause of malfunction before installing new fuse, check voltage between the audio unit ground.
>> Check harness between audio unit fuse, sTEERING SWITCH SIGNAL A CIRCUIT, transmits the steering switch signal audio unit.
