Manual Description
FUEL LEVEL SENSOR UNIT, FUEL FILTER, when replacing fuel line parts, be sure observe following, put a CAUTION: FLAMMABLE” sign workshop, be sure to work in a well ventilated area and furnish workshop with CO2 fire extinguisher.

Never smoke while servicing fuel system, use gasoline required by the regulations for octane number, before removing fuel line parts, perform out following procedures, - Put drained fuel in an explosion-proof container and put the lid on securely.

- Release fuel pressure from the fuel lines, - Disconnect the battery cable negative terminal, always replace O-ring and clamps with new ones, never kink or twist tubes when they being installed.

Never tighten hose clamps excessively avoid damaging hoses, after installing tubes, check there is no fuel leakage at connections following steps, - Apply fuel pressure to fuel lines with turning ignition switch ON” (with engine stopped), - Start engine and rev it up and check for fuel leakage connections.

Use only a genuine NISSAN fuel filler cap as a replacement, for servicing EVAPORATIVE EMISSION SYSTEM” parts, refer EC-68, "System Diagram", for servicing On Board Refueling Vapor Recovery (ORVR)” parts, refer EC-407, "Description", the actual shapes of Kent-Moore tools may differ from those of special service tools illustrated here.

Inspect fuel lines, fuel filler cap, and fuel tank for improper attachment, leakage, cracks, damage, loose connections, chafing deterioration, if necessary, repair replace damaged parts, after connecting fuel tube quick connectors, check quick connectors secure, ensure that connector and resin tube never contact any adjacent parts.

FUEL LEVEL SENSOR UNIT, FUEL FILTER AND FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY, fuel level sensor unit, fuel filter, refer to "Components" for symbols figure, read General Precautions” when working on the fuel system.

Release the fuel pressure from the fuel lines, check fuel level on fuel gauge, the level as shown in the figure (full or almost full), drain fuel, from fuel tank until fuel gauge indicates level as shown in figure below.

Because fuel will be spilled when removing fuel level sensor, as a guide, fuel level becomes the position shown, figure or below when approximately 10 (2-5/8 US gal, 2-1/4, imp gal) of fuel are drained fuel tank.

In a case that fuel pump does not operate, perform following procedure, using a screwdriver, remove it by turning clips clockwise by 90 degrees, : Fuel level sensor unit, fuel filter fuel pump assembly, remove quick connector following procedures.

- Pinch quick connector square-part (A) with your fingers, pull out the quick connector (1) by hand, - If quick connector and tube on sender unit stuck, push, pull several times until they move, pull out.

Quick connector can be removed when the tabs are completely depressed, never use any tools disconnected quick connector, keep resin tube away from heat, when welding near resin tube.

Prevent acid liquid such as battery electrolyte, etc, never bend or twist resin tube during installation disconnection, to keep the connecting portion clean and to avoid damage and foreign materials, cover them completely with, plastic bags (A) something similar.

Never insert plug, preventing damage O-ring quick, remove lock ring for fuel level sensor unit, fuel filter fuel, pump assembly with fuel tank lock ring wrench [SST.
