System uses the seat belt switches to determine the front air bag deployment, and may only deploy one front, air bag, depending on the severity of a collision and whether the front occupants belted unbelted, information necessary to service the system safely is included in the SR and SB section Service Manual, to avoid rendering the SRS inoperative, which could increase the risk of personal injury death.
The event of a collision which would result in air bag inflation, all maintenance must be performed by, improper maintenance, including incorrect removal and installation of the SRS, can lead personal, injury caused by unintentional activation of the system, pRECAUTIONS WHEN USING POWER TOOLS (AIR OR ELECTRIC) AND HAMMERS.
When working near the Airbag Diagnosis Sensor Unit or other Airbag System sensors with the Ignition ON or engine running, DO NOT use air or electric power tools or strike near sensor(s) with, when using air or electric power tools or hammers, always switch the Ignition OFF, disconnect, battery, and wait at least 3 minutes before performing any service, precaution for Procedure without Cowl Top Cover.
When performing the procedure after removing cowl top cover, cover, the lower end of windshield with urethane, etc, clean dust on front brake and rear brake with a vacuum dust collector, recommended fluid is brake fluid DOT 3”.
Be careful not to splash brake fluid on painted areas; it may cause paint damage, on painted areas, wash it away with water immediately, use clean brake fluid, to clean or wash all parts of master cylinder and disc brake caliper, etc, never use mineral oils such as gasoline or kerosene.
Use flare nut torque wrench when installing brake tube, when installing brake tube and hose, be sure check torque, before working, turn ignition switch OFF and disconnect connectors of ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit) battery cable, burnish the brake contact surfaces after refinishing replacing.
Rotors, after replacing pads, or if a soft pedal occurs very low, clean brake pads and shoes with a waste cloth, then wipe, necessary for Steering Wheel Rotation After Battery Disconnect, before removing and installing any control units, first turn the push-button ignition switch to the LOCK position, then disconnect both battery cables.
After finishing work, confirm that all control unit connectors are connected properly, then re-connect both, always use CONSULT-III to perform self-diagnosis as a part of each function inspection after finishing work, this vehicle is equipped with a push-button ignition switch and steering lock unit.
