2021 A-Class Model: A-Class
When the Mercedes Benz A-Class was first introduced in the late 1990s it was classed as a subcompact car.
In 2013 with the launch of its third generation of design it was reclassed to be an executive subcompact car.
The changes made to the external appearance and the features inside the car took it from the "affordable" segment of the market and made it more "premium".
With the success of the similar but slightly larger executive B-Class the company saw more potential in increasing the line's level of quality.
This move allowed the A-Class to compete with the Audi A3 and BMW 1-Series that already had a foothold in that market.
Another big change to the range was the inclusion of an AMG trim of the car called the A45 AMG.
This sports variant of the Mercedes Benz A-Class has a turbocharged 2-liter engine under the hood powering all four wheels.
A wide range of sports features such as racing suspension and safety technology such as ESP Curve Dynamic Assist helped keep the A45 stable when pushed hard too.
Unfortunately for 2021 buyers of the car, the AMG version was taken off sale several years earlier as the fourth generation was released in 2018.
The 2021 model looks very similar to its previous design with only subtle changes to its appearance.
