Manual Description
If you perform maintenance by yourself, be sure to follow the correct procedure as given these sections, conventional wrench (for terminal clamp bolts), funnel (used only adding brake fluid), toyota Super Long Life Coolant” or similar high quality.
And non-borate coolant with long-life hybrid organic acid, toyota Super Long Life Coolant” pre-mixed with 50%, toyota Super Long Life Coolant” pre-mixed with 55%, funnel (used only adding coolant).
Funnel (used only adding engine oil), fuse with same amperage rating original, bulb with same number and wattage rating original, tire inflation pres- Tire pressure gauge.
Water or washer fluid containing antifreeze (for winter use), funnel (used only for adding water washer fluid), toyota Genuine Motor Oil” equivalent, the engine compartment contains many mechanisms and fluids that may move suddenly.
Become hot, or become electrically energized, ● Keep hands, clothing and tools away from the moving fan engine drive belt, ● Do not leave anything that may burn easily, such as paper and rags, engine, ● Do not smoke, cause sparks or expose an open flame to fuel or battery.
● Be extremely cautious when working on the battery, when working near the electric cooling fans radiator grille, be sure the engine switch off, with the engine switch in IGNITION ON mode, the electric cooling fans may automatically start to run if the air conditioning is on and/or the coolant temperature high.
Wear safety glasses to prevent flying or falling material, fluid spray, etc, driving with the air cleaner filter removed may cause excessive engine wear due dirt, release the lock from the inside of the vehicle open hood, pull the hood lock release lever.
The hood will pop up slightly, pull up the auxiliary catch lever, check that the hood is fully closed locked, an accident, which may result in death serious injury.
When using a floor jack, follow the instructions in manual provided with, the jack and perform operation safely, when raising your vehicle with a floor jack, position jack correctly, improper placement may damage your vehicle cause injury.
With the engine at operating temperature and turned off, check oil level, park the vehicle on level ground, it off, wait more than 5 minutes for the oil to drain back into bottom, holding a rag under end, pull.
The dipstick out check oil, the shape of the dipstick may differ depending on the type vehicle engine, wipe the dipstick reinsert it fully, low level mark, add engine oil.
Same type as that already, make sure to check the oil type and prepare the items needed before adding, remove the oil filler cap by turning it counterclockwise, add engine oil slowly, checking dipstick.
Install the oil filler cap by turning it clockwise, a certain amount of engine oil will be consumed while driving, oil consumption may increase, and engine oil may need to be refilled between oil, ● When the engine is new, for example directly after purchasing vehicle after.
