All models Saab

A Swedish automaker that became defunct in 2012, Saab was founded in 1945 and rolled out its first model, the Saab 92, four years later. GM acquired 50% ownership in Saab in 1989, only to sell it off to Dutch automaker Spyker Cars N.V, in 2010.

Following declining sales, GM acquired total ownership in 2000, in a bid to turn the company around. However, the much heralded Saab 9-2X and Saab 9-7X, both launched in 2005, failed to impress car buyers in The United States, and the automaker headed towards bankruptcy.

All Saab models began with the digit 9. In its heyday, Saab was renowned for its accent on safety and commanded great brand loyalty among a segment of buyers.
