Opel, a German carmaker launched in 1929 and owned by GM until 2017, is currently known as Opel Automobile GmbH, a subsidiary of French automaker Groupe PSA.

Opel enjoyed many successful forays in the sixties and seventies, in the United States, including the Opel Kadett, the Opel Manta, and the Opel GT. In the aftermath of the closure of GM’s Saturn Division in North America, rebadged Opels are currently being sold as Buick Regal, Buick Verano, and Buick Encore.

Today, the company boasts a range of hatchbacks, SUVs and MPVs, in markets across the world, including Europe, Asia, Oceania and South America.
